Beginning this week, the Marquette County Highway Department will begin road repair projects in the Town. You may experience road closures and temporary delays as the projects are completed. All approved culvert replacement/repair projects have been completed. The roads to be repaired include:
- As part of an LRIP grant (TRI) awarded to the Town, 4th Avenue will be repaved from Ember Avenue north 2640′. The work will continue from the end of the TRI project to the culvert North of Elk Avenue (additional 3250′).
- Eagle Avenue phase 2 repairs from CTH A to the Maintenance Line (3400′) will be repaired/repaved.
- 3rd Avenue (off of CTH E) – Patch/pave the curve south of Eagle Drive (3100′).
- Ember Avenue (between 1st and 2nd) – Pave 500′ patch over broken area.
- 2nd Avenue (south of Evergreen) – Pave 700′ patch over broken area.
- Ember Drive (CTH J to 5th) – Pave 1500′ patch over broken area.
Additional roads will be approved for repair/repaving to be accomplished in 2025.
The second cutting for Roadside Vegetation Control on Town Roads is currently set to be completed prior to October 1, 2024. Weather and unforeseen issues may result in a later timeline. Marquette County Highway is also contracted to perform cutting of the former landfill site pursuant to DNR recommendation.
